My paintings are a way of telling a story about the world I have experienced. They are personal reflections of emotional, mental and physical occurrences that have directly or indirectly impacted my life.
Each subject is faced with the contemplation of a moment; the before, during or after. The paintings are ambiguous in nature to provoke viewers into creating their own conclusions. The women portrayed in each painting is stripped down to their most unadorned expression. By pairing a muted color palette with vibrant touches of oil paint I walk the line of realistic portraiture and abstraction.
